Our story

More than 25 years of hope, care, and dignity

Founded in 1998 by William Kgabo, Tshepong Centre has grown into a registered NPO making lasting impact across three communities in eastern Tshwane.

Built on a simple belief

Every person with a disability deserves to live with dignity, access to care, and a place of belonging in their community. That belief has guided Tshepong Centre since its founding in 1998.

Our mission

To provide compassionate care, support, and inclusive services that improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities and their families in our community.

Our vision

To be a leading community-based centre that empowers persons with disabilities to live with dignity, independence, and opportunity.

William Kgabo

William Kgabo established Tshepong Centre in 1998 after witnessing the lack of support services for persons with disabilities in Refiloe and the surrounding communities. His vision was straightforward: create a place of belonging, care, and opportunity — a true Tshepong.

Over more than 25 years, that vision has grown into a registered NPO serving three communities, operating 8+ programs, and building partnerships with organisations from across South Africa and the world.
